Module 4: Bracing Gable Ends

Introduction

This is the fourth in a series of 4 short courses designed to meet the training requirements for contractors wishing to participate in the My Safe Florida Home homeowner matching grant program. This grant program provides assistance to qualified homeowners to retrofit existing homes in ways that improve their resistance to damage from tropical storms. To participate effectively in this course, please follow these steps:

1. Read the text in order (top to bottom and left to right) as you scroll through the page.
2. Click the Audio Button when prompted. This allows you to listen to an explanation of the topic being described on the screen.
3. Click the Video Button when prompted. This allows you to watch and listen to a short video on the topic at hand.
4. Review any sections, audio or video presentations as often as you like. You can scroll up and down through the sections at your leisure.
5. Take the Final Exam at the end of the course.
6. After completing the final exam, follow the steps to apply for your certification from My Safe Florida Home and to be added to the My Safe Florida Home list of participating contractors.
